23. Cross-Sell & Discount Codes
Cross-Sell lets Klariton prepare offers that can appear beneath BIQ answers or advisor responses. Discount codes define codes the advisor may suggest in chat.
Current status: Cross-Sell management exists as a campaign, set, and offer model. Live playback, targeting depth, tracking, and some integrations can be plan-gated or still being rolled out. Check the in-app state for your organization.
Cross-Sell Model
Section titled “Cross-Sell Model”Cross-Sell has three levels:
| Level | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Campaign | Top-level goal, time window, objective, and budget or frequency caps. |
| Set | Targeting, display position, frequency rules, and offer grouping. |
| Offer / Item | The visible offer with description, CTA, target link, image, and price text. |
Objectives include:
- sales,
- leads,
- awareness.
Campaign statuses include:
- draft,
- active,
- paused,
- completed,
- archived.
Campaigns
Section titled “Campaigns”Create a campaign when you want to group offers for a season, product launch, subscription push, or lead-generation goal.
Campaign fields can include:
- name,
- description,
- objective,
- start and end date,
- frequency cap per session,
- impression cap,
- click cap,
- BIQ awareness flag.
Publishing or pausing campaigns is restricted to owner/admin roles.
A set defines where and how offers appear.
Set fields can include:
- name,
- description,
- persona filter,
- touchpoint filter,
- display position,
- modal trigger where relevant,
- frequency cap per session,
- frequency cap per day,
- dismissal memory mode,
- priority,
- status.
Display positions include inline after answer, sidebar, modal after reading, or sticky bottom, depending on implementation support.
Offers
Section titled “Offers”An offer contains the actual customer-facing message:
- name,
- description,
- CTA label,
- target URL or lead action,
- optional media URL,
- optional price text.
Current input is manual. External integrations, A/B testing, i18n fields, and advanced targeting are reserved for later expansion unless enabled in your environment.
Promo Codes
Section titled “Promo Codes”Campaigns can have promo codes. Promo code fields include:
- code,
- display label,
- optional conditions text,
- tracking mode,
- optional webhook URL for webhook-based tracking.
Discount Codes
Section titled “Discount Codes”Discount codes are managed under Settings -> Discount codes. They are codes the advisor may suggest in chat.
Fields include:
- code,
- localized description,
- localized trigger hint,
- optional persona targeting,
- active/inactive state.
If no persona is selected, the code can apply to everyone. If personas are selected, the advisor should only use the code when the chat maps to one of those personas.
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Keep campaign objectives specific.
- Use sets for targeting and frequency, not for offer copy.
- Avoid promising discounts unless a valid code exists.
- Put eligibility and conditions into the promo code display text.
- Run Test Center after adding discount logic to catch over-promising.
